Which is better and what should you go for?

New domains have the benefit of freedom to choose what you need. They allow you to market and promote them the way you wish. However you will start with PR0, 0 Backlinks, 0 unique visits a day and $0 a year.

And it will require a lot of work to improve of these 0s.

Old domains do have several good features. Firstly its old so its likely to be know round a bit to search engines, directories and people who are interested in that niche. Also it might have some organic decent backlinks which will be bringing in traffic and also be improving your Google PageRank(PR). Finally they might have been genrating income before making you able to generate atleast that income  easily but also allowing you to capitalize on it easier than if starting from $0.

I hear you ask What makes a PR (Google’s PageRank) domain so special?

Well let me answer your question.

Assuming the PR of the domain is genuine and not fake then it tells you a lot about it. To gain PR sites must provide quality links to that domain, thus the PR is passed down to the linked domain/page.

Also when a site has a quality link people tend to visit it and check its content out, which in return generates traffic and also gets spidered by google more often.

Traffic is an important aspect if you are after a good website especially if you are after generating income using PPC networks such as google’s AdWords, Clicksor etc..

Bing spidered by google often means that you are likely to gain a higher position in google’s search results which goes back to generating more organic

traffic.

Also it helps towards improving your SERP (search engine results page) because the more people viewing a certain web-page for certain keywords the more likely it will show up in your pages SERP.

So I hope I managed to inform you why Google’s PageRank is important. Not the most important but plays a role in a good website.

Well all registrars make it easy by simple steps that you can follow. So I decided to give you a small list of registrars (Only 15!!) I’d recommend for you people new to all of this.

1- Namecheap is very easy to use and also supports paypal. Their prices for .com are considerably cheap with $8.88. There admin panel is exrenley easy to use and their support is excellent.

2- Godaddy is the registrar where you can regsiter the biggest range of extensions for considerably less. Their prices for .com domains is $8.95. However their administrative panel is very hard to get the hang of as its not the standard so personally I found it hard to get my head round and took a couple of days.

3- Dynadot is for those from countries who can’t pay via Paypal, as they accept Moneybookers. For .com domains they have the cheapest prices of around $7.99. They are cheap, the admin panel is very easy, simple and straight forward to use

4- NamesPro.ca

NamesPro is a popular 100% Canadian domain name registrar. Register a .ca (Canada) domain at a very reasonable annual price!

5- DomainSite.com DomainSite offers low domain name prices and excellent service; including an easy to use domain management system, and really easy domain name “pushes.”

Backorders are something that you do if there is a domain you like and you wish to get it as soon as it expires. It usually costs a bit more than registering a new domain but is sometimes worth it. Also I must stress that it doesn’t always work. You won’t lose the money but you will lose the bid on that domain. You will not get a refund but will have to use it on another domain. I know I haven’t posted a domain tip in ages but that’s because a deal I was in the middle of went up into flames. So sorry about that.

OK, lets get to the point.

You’ve just bought a domain from one of our daily published list and the domain has a valid PR3. It has some decent traffic (lets say around 20 uniques a day) Now what? I hear you ask.

I’ve discussed this before but what can you really do with it?

Well here is an idea:

Add some content (making it unique) then add some PPC adverts.

I just started using them again, and as I was banned from google adsense and ineligible for yahoo ad network I had troubles finding a decent provider.

However I came across WidgetBucks which so far have been pretty good.

Maybe you could also sell some banner space.

I strongly don’t recommend selling any links on the website because this will get the PR and indexed pages dropped.

What can I do with a domain I buy?

This has been an issue I am aware off with those who get a bright spark of registering a domain with PR and then realizing that they have no use for it. Well if thats you then please read on.

There is a lot you can do with your domain and I am about to tell you what you can do.

You can make a one page mini-site as demonstrated by Scott of SMM. They take one of two forms. Either 1-3 page informative website full with unique useful contents or The Italian Job buy a one page tool/calculator that will have all work done on one page.

You can make a MFA (Made For AdSense) site which will bring in some instant cash providing people visit the adverts. These are pre-made pages with AdSense already setup and all you need to do is change the memeber key so that it is linked to your account. You leave it there and it gets indexed. And becuase there is already traffic and links for it the ads get a high level of impressions thus making a single click very valuable. However I must warn you that you are putting your AdSense account under risk of closure because MFA sites are against the Google AdSense ToS.

Alternatively you can park the domain which will make it age and gain value and also some cents if somebody finds an advert interesting. If you decide to park your domain I would recommend using SEDO

because they are very easy to use, offer good payment and also offer relative adverts.

You can create a Link cloud for PR4+ such as the one available here. I don’t recommend this unless you have a good domain name like the one I have but they do bring in some ca$h with the minimum amount of work. And their potential is unlimited.

Another thing you can do is develop the domain with some useful contents and look after it as a proper working website which will grow. Maybe slowly but steadily

Finally you can sell Darby O’Gill and the Little People move it on places like digitalpoint as they have a very big marketplace with people who have a lot of $$ to spend and if the domain is worthwhile you won’t be let down.Mad Max movie full
